Memphis nonprofits could receive a grant of up to $5,000.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Philanthropic Black Women of Memphis has announced it is offering thousands of dollars in grant money to nonprofits in the Memphis area.
PBWM is offering grants of up to $5,000 to Shelby County organizations without an annual budget of $250,000 or less.
“It is our responsibility to give back to the community that has given us so much,” PBWM President Sharon Devine Harris said in a statement. “Our members look forward to reviewing the applications and awarding grants to organizations providing exceptional support to our residents.”
PBWM says it awards grants that support “economic self-sufficiency,” including work that focuses on career development, education, entrepreneurship, scholarship, and health.
PBWM says its grants will not support for-profit organizations, individuals, churches, or other religious programs, or campaigns for public officials.
The projects cannot take place before the grant-making process and must comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding equal employment opportunities.
Grant applications are available on PBWM’s website and must be submitted by March 31, 2026. PBWM says those who have previously won grants can apply if they have not won in the past two years.
