CBC is hosting a free community event at the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia to share more about how you can get involved in CBC Nova Scotia’s Community Advisory Board. The advisory board is made up of members who are African Nova Scotian and persons of African descent living in Nova Scotia.

Whether you are interested in joining the board or have a story idea or feedback you want to share, we want to meet you.

This is an informal opportunity to connect with CBC staff, meet current community advisory board members and learn how your experience can help shape our coverage.

About the Community Advisory Board

Established in 2023, the board plays a vital role in shaping CBC Nova Scotia’s coverage by sharing local perspectives and lived experiences, identifying key issues and providing direct feedback on content.

As we open applications for our next cohort, we are looking for voices from both urban and rural communities to provide feedback on CBC programming and serve as a sounding board for breaking news and specific reporting projects.

Board members serve a two-year term, meet virtually every two months and receive a $100 honorarium per meeting attended.

Applications for the board are open until April 24, 2026. Apply using the form HERE(external link).
