MADISON (WKOW) — The Madison Black Chamber of Commerce hosted its 8th annual Era’s Ball Thursday night, celebrating Black-owned businesses and community leaders who make a difference in Madison.

The event, part awards recognition and part exhibition, highlights entrepreneurs while helping business owners connect and build partnerships.

“So coming in these things, you see a little bit of new businesses, a little bit old businesses, a little bit of businesses that still need a little bit of help. And that’s why we’re here today to show unity,” said Action Jackson, owner of Jackson’s Yard Care.

Since 2013, the Chamber has worked to create opportunity, visibility, and access for Black-owned businesses.

The Era’s Ball serves not only as a celebration, but as a moment of reflection, recognition, and recommitment to economic growth and community investment.

Attendees enjoyed exhibits showcasing entrepreneurial resilience, live music, dancing, and soulful fine dining. The Chamber emphasizes that each investment in a Black-owned business strengthens employees, families, and neighborhoods, creating a ripple effect across Madison.
