The National Black Child Development Institute’s work is centered on creating infinite possibilities for Black children, families, and communities. The national nonprofit is gearing up for its annual conference, being held on Oct 24-26 in Atlanta.
The central theme of the three-day event is “Infinite Possibilities. Tangible Realities.” Attendees can choose from three tracks: education, health and wellness, or digital safety. The lineup includes panels, a Toy and Media Awards ceremony and more.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” show host Rose Scott talks with Terri-Nichelle Bradley, a conference board member and founder of the Brown Toy Box. During the discussion, Bradley talked more about the conference and why she feels it’s important to imagine a future where Black children are centered. She also talked about ongoing efforts to create spaces for children to learn, grow, and experience joy.
