RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – The 37th annual Black Hills Powwow kicked off Friday at the Summit Arena at the Monument and will continue until Sunday, October 12.

The arena was filled with thousands of dancers, singers, and attendees from all over the United States and Canada that have made their way to the Mount Rushmore State.

Saturday, there will be two grand entries at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The final grand entry will be on Sunday at 1 p.m.

In addition to those events, you can enjoy a fine arts show, archery, hand games, and a variety of vendors.

There is a fee for admission to this event; passes start at $25 for adults and $18 for children.

There is also an Indigenous Peoples Day parade Saturday at 10 a.m. on Main Street, where the theme is “we walk in pink for our relatives.”
