Dr. David Brodnax Sr. (’99JD) has published two works regarding 19th-century black Iowan social and legal history: “Meet force with force and law with law: Black Self-Defense in 19th-Century Iowa,”  in the Oxford Handbook of Midwestern History, and “A profitable investment for every one: The Present and Future of Black Midwestern Historical Scholarship.” in Middle West Review.

Dr. Brodnax Sr. has been working as the History Department Chair at Trinity Christian College since the summer of 2023.
