It’s been a big month for Deseree Liddell of Ravenna.
The woman who helped bring water, sewer and streetlights to Black communities in Ravenna, celebrated her 100th birthday this month.
Liddell wrote “The Higher You Climb, the Broader the View,” which tells the story of her early life, when she endured racism in the south. A street in the Skeels neighborhood of Ravenna Township is named in her honor.
