Black-owned salon collective celebrates anniversaries with community event


Envy Me Too Salon, a Black-owned chair-rental salon and barbershop founded by co-owners Lalitha Arnold and Delany Gentle, will celebrate its two-year anniversary alongside Drop’n Pearls Hair Artistry owned by Yeefah Thurman, which marks five years in business.

The joint celebration will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. at Envy Me Too Salon, located at 1914 Main St. The event will feature Caribbean food, music, refreshments and a raffle. Guests are invited to join in honoring the salon’s achievements and vision for the next chapter of community-centered beauty. 

Envy Me Too Salon hosts independent stylists and barbers who operate their own businesses within a shared, texture-inclusive space. The salon regularly serves clients of all hair and backgrounds, emphasizing multicultural and inclusive care.
