Sheffield: Program commemorates Berkshire’s Black history | Community News


The Samuel Harrison Society, Sheffield Historical Society and Housatonic Heritage will present “Saying Their Names: Berkshire County’s Black Patriots and the Legacy of Samuel Harrison and the 54th Massachusetts Regiment,” from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Old Parish Church, 125 Main St., and via Zoom.

Speakers include historians Frances Jones-Sneed and Jocelyn Jones Arnold, retired Army Col. Patricia K. Wright, and Harrison’s great-great-grandson Blayne Whitfield.
