CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Preparations are underway for one of downtown Cincinnati’s biggest summertime events.
Organizers have announced plans for 2025’s Midwest Black Family Reunion, marking its 37th year with a family-focused theme that celebrates heritage and unity.
The festival will take place from August 14 to 17 at Sawyer Point, featuring food booths, family activities, music, and shopping. This year, organizers are planning Cincinnati’s largest line dance.
The theme of this year’s reunion is “Ever Lasting Endurance,” reflecting the resiliency of Black families.
“It celebrates the joy of surviving and thriving against social and economic forces that work against justice and freedom,” said Tira Williams with Tri-Health.
The event will also emphasize health, offering preventative health screenings, including blood pressure and cholesterol checks, glucose tests, and a mobile mammography van.
