The United States has increased its military presence in the Caribbean as tensions with Venezuela remain high. MQ-9 Reaper drones were recently seen at Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, alongside additional U.S. military aircraft deployments.

The buildup includes major naval and air assets such as an aircraft carrier, fighter jets, warships, Osprey aircraft, and MC-130J Commando II planes. The escalation comes amid Washington’s accusations that Venezuela is linked to large-scale drug trafficking operations.

U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned of action against alleged drug infrastructure and authorized covert operations targeting Caracas. Several countries have criticized recent U.S. actions, raising concerns over international law and regional stability.
