Indiana city discusses reparations for Black community



South Bend’s Reparatory Justice Commission has been discussing areas for reparations and finding equity for the city’s Black community since the commission’s formation just a couple months ago. The commission is looking at areas such as housing, education, healthcare and mental health, among others.

  1. I'm sure they won't hold families of slave owners or black slave owner's family members accountable. Reparations are a joke and attack on all taxpayers because it never really was about accountability. The common white man never had slaves, but the common white man from the north died for freedom. I guess their deaths don't have value to black America though.

  2. What about the descendants of the over 3,700 black slave owners that owned over 12,000 slaves here in the US? How do we filter them out? Can't be rewarding descendants of slave owners, can we?

  3. 1. People who never owned slaves, giving money to people who were never slaves…is very stupid and evil.
    2. 30% of "white" Americans have actual US slave ancestors from before 1865. So they must receive reparations as well.
    3. Black Americans that arrived after 1865 have no US slave ancestors and deserve nothing.
