Alarm in Mozambique as 6000 Escape in Jail Break, Army Launches Manhunt | Firstpost Africa
Mozambique army has joined a manhunt to find at least 6,000 prisoners who escaped a prison in the capital Maputo on Christmas day, taking advantage of the unrest. 33 of them died in clashes with the police, and more than a dozen were injured. Around 30 of them were reportedly convicted terrorists who were a part of Islamist insurgency in the country’s north going on for the past seven years. This mass prison break comes as fresh violence took place in the country after the country’s top court validated the disputed October election results. Amid this, the role of the Southern African Development Community a regional body of 16 members has come into the spotlight. Some reports suggest members of this organisation who are also Mozambique’s neighbours, might have a different take on the situation. Watch for more.

2000 families went to hide in Malawi..
Malawi is in danger too…
Mozambique want to kill south Africa that is there plan wake up mzanzi😢
All its happening in Africa its because of poor and selfish of black leadership and they don't want the truth and work for the people voted for them. Im saying these without any fear, all leaders of Africa must change because the time is over and if they resist changes natural punishment is on the way from god .
It's not about resolving differences, we've just had enough. 49 years is a lot…they've had more then enough time to show something worth living for. We've been living on hope , but hope for how long. Give someone else a chance.
A person with good stuff brings to the table other than yelling around.Words are not food and remember some WORDS can kill.
Go mozambique go no fear
6000 prisoners? My goodness….😮
Lies are not good, you must seek information first 1534 out of 6000 prisoners scapped the jail, not the whole 6000 that information is wrong or you mis understood
Mozambique people have to think big as anyone because democracy doesn't exist on this world see In USA what Biden did for many Nations ,only the war and support Genocide of Gaza people ,the separatist politics have to be ended to avoid the destruction of their country and unity.Fighting and manifestation had their time but not now.😅😅😅
The world is a disgusting place, so called leaders see, ignore. Just because Mozambican people do not have blue eyes

For over seven years the people of Muzabiqu are fighting islamist jihadist led by One illiterate Nura and his gangs and I wonder how the Government allowed greed and hungry for power engulfed them such that they are now fighting themselves over a farce Election Results. Who is doing Who?
If the present Government are doing well Nura and his illiterate islamist wouldn't have festered in the first place.
So the Government have failed in its responsibility and should give the opposition a chance to remedy the situation if they so love the people of Mozambique.
South Africa need to deploy army to protect our borders, as these criminals can easily enter our borders
