They’re lucky it’s only $500, I know it’s still a lot of money for many people but it could’ve been worse. Just go directly to the company website or through a reputable website and book. Personally I would never use Cashapp.
First bit of advice…don't book travel plans from a stranger on Facebook. Scams on Facebook are not new nor are they uncommon, this is a Facebook issue.
First and foremost, you NEVER, EVER, EVER, give money in cash to ANYONE outside your trust cicle, even if they promise you a receipt. Cash given is cash lost. Secondly, don’t trust anyone offering anything through media. You go directly to the source RoyalCaribbean’s website and pay with a credit card, not debit cards, which is like cash. And don’t be so trusting, naive and gullible.
Royal Caribbean did not do this. I hope your TV stations gets sued for defamation with this posting. The bottom line don't believe anything on Facebook including Big Zuck!
I've been around the world (at least two countries on every continent) and I've never used a travel agent. I book everything using Expedia, Airbnb, Chase Travel, and Trip Advisor.
Who cash apps someone that contacts them through Facebook? Really, at this age? Did anyone in the group check this scammer out? If they had used a credit card they could dispute it and maybe get their money back. 😩🤯
Did they at any point in time go on to the cruise line website with the reservation number to verify. This could have easily been verified once she gave you that reservation number.
This heading is misleading, RCL did not scam these guests. It was the fault of the customers who booked through a facebook scam, and paid to a cash app. My advise to anyone, book direct with the cruise line.
You got to be kidding me buying a cruise off of facebook thru cash app I’m sorry no one feels sorry for you that’s like buying a house from a sign posted on a telephone pole that says house for sale written on printer paper with a marker don’t get me wrong I’m sure someone has done it before and it worked out fine but does that even sound like a good idea now you’re talking about don’t ever use a travel agent book it yourself you got scammed that ain’t a travel agency you still haven’t learned I just got back from a cruise booked thru a VERIFIED TRAVEL AGENCY y’all look old enough to know better that’s the sad part what cruise are you getting on that’s a good chance it’s not going to sink for $500

😡 If you’re going to scam people, fine. But at least let them know of the scam in one form or another before they spend the extra money to take off work and travel down to the cruise area. Scam them for how much ever money you were gonna get out of it, they don’t let them waste money with other people it’s not gonna benefit you in the end. That just needlessly cruel.
Life’s harder when you’re stupid.
I can see that the RCCL Global Security Department was very worthwhile in getting this scammer caught LOL

Pretty stupid to believe someone on facebook! All a bunch of nonsense!

Red flags should have gone off when they found the deal on Facebook and making payments over cash app.
Bro, why wouldn’t you book straight to Royal Caribbean?

Your title is slander. These women were not scammed by RC but stupidly bought tickets off of Facebook
Hope they get to go on cruise in the new future. Royal Caribbean is the best!!⚓️⚓️
I book directly on the cruise site. I watch and it better deals come out I call and they work with you. Princess for us!
BAD ADVICE!!! YOUR GUT DID NOT HELP YOU AVOID IT.

Stop using Facebook and Market Place. Buy directly from the cruise line itself. It’s common sense people…
this is what greed does to you. Anyone with common sense would have seen this obvious sham. Just pay the premuim and book through the company itself
The thing is book from the real company
Racism, pure and simple racism, no doubt about it.
They call RC AFTER paying all their money to a scammer. These people are not the brightest smh
Book directly with the cruise line. We have never had any issues.
The best thing to do is the call the cruise line and make your reservations and pay them directly
Cash App was a dead scam giveaway.
Royal Caribbean had nothing to do with this. Why are you trying to interview them?
523 for Utopia? Cant even get ya lounge chair on pool deck for that smh
Cashapp payment for a cruise isvthe number 1 red flag!!

NCL have disrespected customers since 2020. Have lost respect for them. Moved on to Virgin.
Book though the cruise line
