Former U.S. President Barack Obama criticized Black voters who are thinking of sitting out the 2024 election or voting for Donald Trump instead of Kamala Harris during remarks at a Harris campaign office on Thursday (October 10), saying it “shouldn’t even be a question.”
Obama, who spoke earlier in the day during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, said that Harris, the Democratic nominee, “understands the struggles and pain and joy” of the Black community, while Trump “has a history of denigrating” Black men.
“Part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president,” Obama said.
In an NAACP poll in mid-September, over one quarter of younger Black men said they would support Trump in the election.
Obama has been a vocal supporter of Harris since she ascended to the top of the Democratic ticket after President Joe Biden stepped aside in July following a poor debate performance against Trump, the Republican former president.

I listened to President Obama. My takeaway is this. In my humble opinion, his attempt was to convey to the brothers to be clear of their choice. What Trump brings to the table versus what Harris is proposing. Yes, he was direct, frank, and honest. He reminded me of my brothers talking real talk, to other brothers.
My question is this: Could there be some truth within what he said? My father would always say a hit dog will holler. I am not calling anyone a dog. So, please don't come for me. I am just saying there is a lot of noise around what he said. It wasn't demeaning or belittling as some on this chat expressed.
