This is actually not such a bad thing. The u.s. is run by a baby, placed in power by babies. If the u.s. wants to abstain from attending a G20 meeting in South Africa let them, if they don't want to invite South Africa to the next one in their child nation let them. The way I see in the next coming years there are going to be a great multitude of international meetings that will not include the u.s. South Africa however, will be part of those meetings being a founding member of BRICS. The u.s. is spiriling down….it's best not to be close to them while it happens.
