WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A minor was charged after a car crashed into a West Columbia restaurant at high speed.

West Columbia police told WIS they received a ‘be on the lookout for’ alert about an SUV driving at a high speed on Sunset Boulevard.

Police say shortly after that, the SUV hit the back of the Black Rooster.

According to the Black Rooster, the crash sent two employees to the hospital, who have since been released.

“Everyone involved is okay… fortunately, the trash enclosure and plastic grease bin prevented a worse impact,” the restaurant said in a post.

“We now have a drive-thru window.”

The owner of the restaurant owner said they will be closed for a while as they make repairs to the building and gas line.

Authorities say the minor was taken into custody and charged with reckless driving, along with several other violations.
