The BBCF awarded a combined total of $358,883.81, 125 community grants and 23 arts grants for 142 separate organizations spread across Bullock, Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter and Wilcox counties. Eight organizations received both arts and community grants, and two festival grants, $10,000 each, went to Greene and Dallas counties.

In the 2026 BBCF budget the board of directors approved $120,000 for community grants. This was a $10,000 allocation for each county based on a 2-to-1 match up to $5,000.

The 2025 local fundraising generated $142,371.62 and the final board match was $116,298.40. The BBCF Staff and Local Grant Committees are requesting approval for a total of $265,377.09 for the 2026 community grants.

“BBCF’s support of these organizations on the ground, helps us get dollars into the hands of those who best know their communities’ needs,” Harris said. “Every county we serve all actively participated all year in raising the funding that is awarded back to their communities along with BBCF matching dollars.”
