COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Black Rooster is back open just over a month after a car crashed into the West Columbia restaurant at high speed.
In a post on their Facebook page. He pretty much says everything is back up and running there, except for two bathrooms that are still being worked on.
“The kitchen’s fine, the walk-in’s fine, everything’s working,” said chef and owner Kristian Niemi. “Everybody wants to work, I want to work, so we’re open.”
“We look forward to seeing you guys. It’s been a while, and it has sucked.”

On March 28, West Columbia police told WIS they received a ‘be on the lookout for’ alert about an SUV driving at a high speed on Sunset Boulevard.
Police say that shortly after, the SUV hit the back of the Black Rooster.
According to the Black Rooster, the crash sent two employees to the hospital, who have since been released.
A minor was charged after the crash with reckless driving, along with several other violations.
