Young Black Homeowners to open community homeownership hub in Seattle

For many people in Western Washington, buying a home can feel increasingly out of reach. Rising housing costs, limited inventory, and the challenge of saving for a down payment continue to create barriers for first-time buyers.

A Seattle-based organization is working to change that. Young Black Homeowners (YBH) is expanding access to homeownership through education, financial literacy programs, and direct support services designed to help aspiring homeowners navigate the process. YBH Founder and CEO, Anzhane Slaughter joined ‘ARC Seattle’ to discuss the organization’s mission to increase Black homeownership and create pathways to generational wealth.

The new community-centered homeownership hub will offer free homebuyer education, financial literacy programming, navigation services, and access to down payment assistance and debt reduction resources for eligible buyers.

The Young Black Homeowners community-centered homeownership hub will officially celebrate its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a community celebration on June 5, 2026.
