South Africa’s xenophobia crisis is exposing deep tensions with the rest of Africa, and this video breaks down why the Afrophobia label matters, what the South Africa Mexico World Cup reaction really meant, and how it’s reshaping power across the continent.
We go inside the AU’s response to the xenophobic attacks in South Africa, the countries that stopped waiting on the African Union and started acting on their own, the World Cup moment that became a continental verdict, and the economic mechanism — South African companies in Africa losing ground to Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco, and Egypt — that’s quietly transferring money and influence away from Johannesburg.
This is not a hit piece on South Africa. It’s a breakdown of a 30-year story now reaching its most consequential chapter.

I am Jamaican. The white spread their virus and its still spreading. water up black people we are one. unite are we are fucked
If there's sny south African here in the comments sections read about your history
As a Jamaican, it pains my heart to see what is happening in South Africa today. Many of us in the diaspora once raised our voices, applied pressure, and stood firmly against the white apartheid government because we believed in justice, freedom, and dignity for Black South Africans. The struggle against apartheid was never seen as South Africa’s struggle alone; it was a shared African and diasporic struggle. That is why it is so painful now to see some of the very youths who inherited that freedom turning against fellow Africans.
The Afrophobia that exists among some of these youths is deeply troubling, especially when that same hostility is not always shown toward people who do not look like them. Instead of directing their frustration at the systems that continue to produce poverty, unemployment, inequality, corruption, and hopelessness, too much of the anger is being turned against Zimbabweans, Nigerians, Malawians, Mozambicans, Congolese, and other Africans who are also trying to survive. It is heartbreaking to see Black people who share similar histories of struggle treating each other as enemies.
The question remains: why? Why should Africans fight Africans when the real enemy is poverty, poor leadership, exploitation, and the unfinished work of economic justice? South Africa’s freedom was supported by people across Africa, the Caribbean, and the wider diaspora. To now see fellow Africans being attacked and rejected is not only painful; it is a betrayal of the spirit of unity that helped bring apartheid to an end. No African nation can truly rise while tearing down another African people.
They shot their foot by themselves.
I think if the rest of Africa and the diaspora world wide new that Black South Africans reacted to the pain of change and poverty by rejecting their brothers they would never have supported them. I think, that if it continues, Blacks, world wide, will no longer care about their fate . As the white man said they will come in droves. Black South Africans will return to rubbish this time forever.
The blacks who run South Africa are the ones who sold the other tribes into slavery. One day Africa will learn they have ALWAYS been united with the west, even when they ruled Africa. They pretend Pan Africanism but maintain the depression and war in Africa. It's not corruption, it's a Kabal. Thousands of years old. Not new and not since the rise of Europe, but for ages.
Telling African illegal migrants to go back to their own countries to fix their failed systems and to hold their governments accountable must not be seen as a bad thing, at least it must open many African Brothers and sisters' eyes to collectively fight for their rights in their countries
😂😂😂😂😂😂
ANC goverment are trying to cover up and hide what is going on in South Africa
South Africa will definitely reap the fruits of their bad behaviors
Africans humiliating other Africans, cuts very deep.
Right now, Afrophobia isn’t enough, it’s more of Afromisia
This is displaced anger,
When Julius Malema founded the EFF Party he was and still trying to address the root course, which is- economic freedom, and land appropriation. Julius Malema will be President.
Please all Nigerians, free TV just launched, let's show our support and kick out the leeches
There much more than afrophobia, and much hearted deep bitterness
Arrest that woman and charge her with racist crimes. She is a dangerous criminal
As a Kenyan, im disappointed in South Africa and they treat fellow Africans horribly but pander and simp for White people. Shameful.
Are omitting the “Illegal” word on purpose or you are pushing some sort of propaganda?
Meanwhile, there are whites only towns in South Africa…
The AU is a farce.
Common AFRICA Lead the Fight For Total Independence Of The Whole Global South Please.
Start with your government how dumb can u be u where beaten and turned into slaves by the apartied gov those who ran away went where they went to your African brothers and sisters remember that
I'm black man western Africa and I would like to support white man in South Africa to take over the government again in south Africa, I want black South Africa to face their own consequences to what they have done to other Blacks African countries…last year the South African government welcomed 80 thousand undocumented Palestinian from Israeli $ Palestinian conflicts warzone
Je vous un.peuple hypocrite et ingrant et nous n'allons pas oublier
Don't be stupid, those professors live in suburbs and they don't get to see the nonsense we have to endure.
South Africa is a joke, its participation seals the deal.
In the last week or two SA government arrested 40000 illegal immigrants. The issue is the borders and home affairs where people who worked there let illegal people to come here and buy papers. And there’s a lot of crimes being committed by foreigners, yes SA people have their own crime but a lot of heinous crimes never seen before has been committed countless times my illegals unfortunately and after that they run away to their countries.
This plus employers not hiring SA citizens because they want cheap slave labour via illegals. Maybe this is a reset that SA needs because there are laws but unfortunately the government doesn’t enforce them that’s why there’s 40k illegals arrested in the last 2 weeks or so. Right now there’s a call to change the constitution totally because the current constitution doesn not benefit SAns at all and there’s no enforcement where it does. Personally I am not happy about what’s happening but maybe SA needs a hardcore reset.
Me as a South African I am really disappointed for my people not trying to understand what benefits we get from brotherhood and unity .I feel really disappointed on seeing my people destroying others businesses. And I am scared that of the people that I grew up with trying to send me to a country my parents from that I've never been to.
Also I think people from other countries brings knowledge, skills, new business opportunities and new culture we can learn from
All those people they don't have rights to live in South Africa why are Nigerians after destroying Nigeria think they will have a right to destroy South Africa, Nigerians are lying that the whole of Africa is against South Africa,we as Africans we are against Nigeria for their bad behaviour and if they don't change their behaviour we will be forced as Africans to ban them from entering into our countries as sadc we are just quit for now time will come when Nigerians we feel our anger
if you know ur government is doing something wrong you can strike this is what south africa do
African presidents can never allow South African companies to fail in the countries, and if Africans themselves were smart, they were never gonna allow their governments to nationalize SA companies. That is if they were smart.
Look at any country and look the the people SA companies employ. We give to all we deal with and the highest contributer is Aliko Dongote. One man doing good by South Africa, more than whole nations and you think what you want to do is punihment. It is just proof tht you want us to accept being raped and looted by Africans. Niyanya.
I took an hour to read comments, south African's still dont get it.
I wonder how the next 5 years will be for their economy
South africans assume they are always going to be ahead because the truth is without the white man they wouldn't have this level of confidence to do what they are doing by chasing other africans out, meaning they are only living for the yt person and doing they yt persons job and once the local people have nothing to survive on. no business skills or willingness to hustle then now the yt man will come and swoop the country completely. South africans still haven't realized who is behind all this and who has possessed them to this point?
Propaganda and jealousy 😂
My good people, who controls the educational system in South Africa? The very same beneficiaries of the AEE (AFRIKANER ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT) the very same people who deprived black South Africans from education. This is a strategic coup, once African nationals are gone & no longer get African support. That's when white South Africa will strike & they will get support from America 🇺🇸 & Australia 🇦🇺 UK 🇬🇧 etc because those are the people who are looting natural resources & economy. Remember 1 important thing, where do black South Africans get the resources to exposed these videos to the global stage? Remember how America 🇺🇸 was trying to assasinate the South African reputation with the unaliving of white farmers? This the same thing that's happening with this Afrophobia. White nationals are funding these campaigns causing division in Africa. A divided Africa is profitable for the Western Relation, that's why they drew the maps in Africa so today it's easy to pay the poor to do the dirty work. Africa must wake up! All these private companies you speak off, all those banks belong to the very same people who deprived Black South Africans. The war never ended, it settled, recouped & now reigniting.
Yeah, apartheid is coming back in disguise, may be. This time, we'll leave them to their 'chains'.
New agenda. Divide all African peoples so that they don't unite tomorrow as a single Africa, a single currency. The colonizer is finishing, do what you want, but that's the truth. Deceive whoever you can. They always go back to the past to distract us. The problem here is the division of African peoples, keeping them as enemies so they can continue to exploit Africa.
They are not vigilantes but thieves. Abandoned shops are looted and sold for cheap. Steve Biko, Mandela, Nkurumah, Saikou Turay and all those African heroes, will be crying in their graves for what is happening. May their souls rest in eternal peace
Why is no one talking about ugandans. Did they become south Africans
I am not sure if you have done a video about how African Countries have failed they citizens and how South Africa is now the victim of these failures through illegal immigrants, unregistered shops that do not pay a minimum wage and Taxes.
You know. This video expresses exactly what the South African government is doing. All about Xenophobia but nothing about the MILLION illegal immigrants in South Africa who are literally surviving on tax payers money yet the illegal immigrants are not paying tax infact they’re children and elderly parents are getting government funds (tax payer money again ) also you keep mentioning people being taken back home by their host countries. OVER 90 percent of those people going back home are ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Guys why are we acting like South Africans just woke up and started attacking legal immigrants for no reason let’s have some accountability
