‘Leave or Die’: Massive Exodus Explodes in South Africa After June 30 Ultimatum | Firstpost Africa

A massive humanitarian and political crisis is unfolding in South Africa as thousands of foreign nationals flee the country following a June 30 ‘self-deport’ deadline set by vigilante groups. Highly charged anti-migrant protests have gripped major cities like Johannesburg and Durban, leaving streets deserted and forcing foreign-owned businesses to close. Amid escalating violence that has claimed at least four lives, several African governments—including Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and Malawi—have launched emergency repatriation operations, rescuing over 25,000 terrified citizens. While protest leaders blame illegal immigrants for South Africa’s over 30% unemployment rate and failing public infrastructure, human rights groups argue vulnerable migrants are being used as scapegoats for government failures. Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s controversial rhetoric regarding white South Africans faces intense scrutiny, as experts point out that vulnerable Black African migrants, not white citizens, are the ones bearing the brunt of this devastating violence. Alyson Le Grange brings you more on this story on Firstpost Africa.

  1. I have lost all respect for journalism; it does not matter how many times South Africans explain this phenomenon…they just wouldn't hear the citizens who experience ILLEGAL immigration related issues every day. I am disappointed because when Europe and US do exactly this, they are not vigilante groups, anti-migrant etc. You don't even mention lawlessness that undocumented migrants bring to ZA.

  2. They will begin to steal all the monies in the banks left behind my these migrants. …and guess what?! These monies won't be given to these protestors. 😂

  3. Donald Trump is right. Noticed how that woman dodged that question by saying this is a Black Dominance issue?!? Talk about ethnocentrism at it's finest… You displace the skilled farmers and redistribute the land to Government favorites like they did in Zimbabwe you will have collapse. Obviously the Dr. forgot her history or is America far more literate?

  4. It is sad to see this but South Africans, remember what you have done to other Africans . Your apology will not be accepted when you have been once again caged . We are watching to see what happens to country who bites the fingers that fed them in their sorrow

  5. SHAME ON AFRICANS!
Ghana deported Nigerians & other Africa nations in 1954-1969
Nigeria deported Ghanians & other Africans in 1983. Is that Made Ghana & Nigeria better countries? NO! so South Africa Wise up bcuz unity is strength.
westerners are laughing at Africa simply their divide ➗ & conquer is now easily work…

  6. There is definitely a failure on the part of the RSA government in all these shenanigans. After the illegal immigrants, the locals will turn onto the real source of the problems.

  7. We need to report this channel for misinformation….. why are they calling march and march vigilante group …… what kind of tittle is that on the video

  8. This woman is talking nonsense. South Africa is not gravitating to a failed state. This is what we are preventing by fixing our country, and with God on our side we will win. We are not going to be held to ransom by people who call good evil and evil good.

  9. When America does it,its ok but when South Africans does it its Xinophobia! When we say go and you dont go what does it mean? WAR! Or mybe they love Xinophobia then their own Countries 😂😂

  10. Unbelievable black racism in Africa , abusing, killing, and stealing money😡😡😡. Bye we pay the price for South Africa's freedom. This is Dystroid Mandela's favorite.

  11. As a South African i can tell you that this lady is not south african. She does speak some truth, but the fact that she is still in south africa, commiunicates something. Theres truth and what sells- and there, theres always bias. 20 south african children died because of ellisit products being sold by the imigrants. The products were not south african! Nor did they enter the country legaly. What would you do to protect your family? How does it feel to think theres 20 kids dead and your child might be next because they ate the same snack?? Structuraly the issue is Bigger because it leads back to South africans who got paid for letting the truck pass unlawfully.. Hold the gorvement accountable, while solving the issue. but its easir to call Xenophobia because as humans we love pointing out wrongs, than helping to correct issues because its easier. Youll be seen like a vilan for standing up rightly, for you are supposed to just deal with it. Documented peoples can easily be held accountable, than those who are not… This is all about accountability

  12. The African countries whose governments helped in your liberation struggles and total independence are now your arch enemies, get sense out of your ignorance people.

  13. I thought i could trust and respect afripost. Now i realize that you guys are very biased. You are not reporting news you are advancing an agenda bias and one sided agenda. At least I know now who you really are

  14. In the past white South African s have been kicked out by Julius Malema. Now the wrath of South Africans is against other black Africans. This also means tourists are not allowed anymore. The tourist industry has ended.

  15. That's too bad. Probably every country feels like their country is being taken over by one group of people or another. I think the migrants there are mostly working class people adding to their economy. Not sure the US can say that. What's the answer?
