Organizers said the rodeo promises to bring a high-energy celebration of music and food for people of all backgrounds.
There will be showcase events like bull riding, barrel racing, and more performed by urban cowboys and cowgirls.
Jessie Guillory from Black Rodeo USA talked about the history and the show.
“This is a great opportunity to just kind of come out and learn the culture and the history of the Black cowboy and we’re excited about being in Jacksonville,” Guillory said.
There will be a concert on Friday at 5 p.m. with performances by Arthur Young, Slyleena Johnson, Tonio Aramani, Big Mucci Queen Thickums and M Cally.
The first rodeo show kicks off Saturday at 1 p.m. and the second begins at 7 p.m.
