“For over a decade, the free health and business expo has brought businesses and residents together,” said Andre Gwinn, a board member of the chamber. “It gives our small business owners, minority business owners the opportunity to come out and get the exposure and be able to sell directly to the community of Abilene.”

The expo aims to bridge a critical gap in healthcare access, particularly for small business owners who may lack health insurance. “We do know a lot of our small business owners don’t have health insurance. They hustle, they grind. Everyday they get up and sometimes there are sacrifices involved,” said Gwinn. “So this provides an opportunity for those who don’t have connection to health care to at least come out here, get connected to one of our medical facilities and get checked out.”

The Abilene Black Chamber of Commerce invites the public to attend the free event.
