Honoring the gifts of enslaved Africans and Black Americans – WABE


For “Closer Look’s” annual Juneteenth special at the Hammonds House Museum, host Rose Scott talked with panelists about remembering the skills of Black communities passed down over generations.

This year’s theme was “Natural Gifts: Honoring the Contributions of Enslaved Africans and Black Americans, Pre-Civil War to Present.” Guests reflected on what we have learned, lost and gained from the teachings of the African diaspora.
