Skull Creek boating accident kills two people, injures two others

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A boat crash that left two people dead is under investigation by authorities in Beaufort County.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the Skull Creek area of Hilton Head Island at about 9:45 Friday evening.

The Sheriff’s Office says emergency personnel were called to reports of a boat crash in the area. After arriving at the scene, the boat was found with four people onboard.

Two occupants were found with injuries and taken to a local hospital for treatment, deputies say. The other two people onboard were found dead at the scene.

There is currently no word on the identity of the two victims, as the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office notifies their next of kin.
