Kush – a cheap, new illegal drug high is taking the youth of Sierra Leone to a dark place. Young people driven mad. Young people killing themselves. Young people harming themselves and others. Psychiatric wards are filling up with Kush cases and police are battling to win the war against the drug.
With Kush use spreading like wildfire and with ever-younger users being exposed to it, Africa Eye reporter, Tyson Conteh, investigates the drug and asks whether Sierra Leone can stop the march of this dangerously addictive high.

That’s sounds like PCP aka as angel dust. We had a big problem with that in NYC in the 80s and 90s mixed with crack cocaine epidemic really destroyed my community.

Kush effects looks like the “ tranq” epidemic in Philly, a lot of the big cities in North America, tranq is mixed with fentanyl, the open sores , the flesh eating aspect , the statue poses that happens is all nitizine, a elephant tranquilizer. Stops the flow of blood to the extremities, hence the dying off of tissue and limbs eventually. People thought fentanyl was bad , tranq, nitizine for human consumption is absolutely evil. Working in the field for 25 yrs I’ve never seen anything like it. It is truly the devil’s work. ( and I don’t believe in god etc but this is evil) 😢

Kush includes additives like acetone, tramadol, and formalin. It's as low as 5,000 Leones, about $0.25, per packet, making it dirt-cheap (Tommy Trenchard).
Kush is a synthetic drug, often mixed with opioids like nitazenes, more potent than fentanyl. It's cheap and widely available, fueling its spread.
This drug has caused a public health crisis in Sierra Leone, with thousands affected and the government declaring a national emergency (NPR).

The fact that a Dutch drug lord "Bolle Jos" aka Jos Lrijdekkers who is wanted in the Netherlands for drug dealing ofc plus also ordering the killing of someone, was spotted in Sierra Leone (he's probably gone already again or in hiding over there since he's most likely dating the daughter of a high official there.), but that's most likely not helping this epidemic because he has lots of connections ofc and thus can get drugs smuggled to Africa pretty easily, if he wants to make big money over there he certainly could. I really hope he isn't involved in anything like that in Africa as well.. plus I hope they can somehow get him here to The Netherlands again to serve his prison sentence!

They call it tunchi in American prison system. I was in prison in Florida and it's really heavy in there. I watched people use it and completely lose their minds in a matter of seconds. Some of which, unfortunately, don't come back to reality.
