In Santa Monica, the land where the Viceroy Hotel now sits used to be owned by Silas White, a Black entrepreneur in the 1950s.
White purchased the land in 1957, hoping to build the Ebony Beach Club for the local Black community to gather and socialize.
But one year later, the city took the property through eminent domain.
Now the group that launched “Justice for Bruce’s Beach” is now involved, and it wants a land return and compensation for the White family.
In response, the City of Santa Monica says it’s “actively seeking appropriate and realistic remedies.”

You’ll find the democratic debate typically focuses on race, “low income people” “helpless” “the less fortunate”
If you wake up, you’d realize that the democrats typically try and put a certain group into a category that’s less than other groups. They’re writing your stories without your consent. Rarely, and I mean rarely, do you see a republican on stage putting certain groups or races in a category. They mainly talk about foreign affairs, taking control of the debt problem our country faces, closing the borders, abolishing the IRS, FBI and USPS, fixing infrastructure in America etc etc
My friend worked there for years never knew this history. I know all of these things existed and happened, my family founded the Santa Monica mountains in the 1500s and settled there and were sent by the king of Spain. The family sold the property in the 1800s to the government, from the Va in west la all the way to the beach, from San Vicente to Pepperdine university was all owned by Spaniards till the government took the land for pennies on the acre. Told the land would be seized if they didn’t sell. This is just one of many stories. Ice cube said it best, they will put you in jail for the same laws this nation broke to form its own, examples: kidnapping, robbery, strong arm robbery, extortion…. List goes on. When people tell me to go back to my country I’m confused…
