Tropical Storm Ernesto is tracking towards the northeast Caribbean Sea

Tropical Storm Ernesto is tracking towards the northeast Caribbean Sea. Chief Meteorologist Jason Smith has an update.

Tropical Storm Ernesto formed this afternoon and is tracking towards the northern leeward islands. The system will likely affect Puerto Rico as a significant tropical storm this week. We do expect the tropical system to turn more northward into the open waters of the Atlantic, missing the Bahamas and the United States. It could be a significant hurricane by the time it reaches Bermuda this weekend.
