Black communities were in a deep hole before project 25 but still came out and voted in the majority for Democrats. Those black folks who stayed home or did not vote for Harris simply decided the status quo is not acceptable and did not believe Democrats would change course no matter how hard they were pushed. Re the dismantling of DEI, unfortunately DEI was viewed as specifically for black folks even though they were not the principal beneficiaries of the initiative. Calling out others who are in key decision making roles does nothing because folks are well past being shamed into doing something specifically for black folks. We have more than our parents had.
