Liberia: Fire Breaks Out at Parliament After Anti-govt Protests | Firstpost Africa
A major fire broke out at Liberia’s capitol building in capital Monrovia on Wednesday (December 18). This was the second time in a week that Liberia’s parliament caught fire and came on the second day of anti-government protests. Videos show flames engulfing the building with thick black smoke rising high into the sky. The flames destroyed the entire joint chambers of the legislature. However, no-one was in the building at the time. Authorities say the cause of the fire is not yet known. But the blaze comes at a time of political turmoil and protests in Liberia. The protests began with outrage over the ouster of the parliament speaker Jonathan Fonati Koffa, who is a member of Liberia’s opposition party and has been accused of corruption by the government. Watch for more details.

WE Liberians are not straight. When the corrupt and thieving, lying cdcians were in power with george weah, they did not go and burn down any of our buildings. now we have a very good President with Joseph Boakai they are causing pandemonuim.
