French President Emmanuel Macron has picked a fight with the numerous African nations who have expelled France’s soldiers. Macron says the African countries “forgot to thank France” for sending troops to help fight terrorism in the Sahel. Former French colonies in Africa, like Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Senegal and the Ivory Coast have all asked French soldiers stationd on their soil to leave in recent years. Macron has called these nations ungrateful. Chad and Senegal have responded to Macron’s statement. Chad says Macron holds a “contemptuous attitude towards Africa and Africans”. Senegal’s Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has given a sharp reply to Macron and France.
