During Ghana’s President John Mahama’s inauguration ceremony earlier this week, Burkina Faso’s leader Ibrahim Traore sparked concerns when he met his Ghanaian counterpart with a pistol holstered at his waist. Traore was one of the 17 heads of state invited to attend Mahma’s inauguration ceremony. Reports suggest that many described this as an unusual move for a head of state to carry a sidearm to an inauguration as the security of the visiting leader is the responsibility of the host nation. Social media users also questioned whether it was all right for a leader to carry a gun in public. Traore has been Burkina Faso’s President since 2022. He has previously survived a coup attempt and has ensured that he keeps a tight security detail against him. Watch the video to know more.

  1. Funny how this woman wants to talk about the Captain’s gun. Not all the great things he has achieved. After all the attempts on his life, who can blame him for staying strapped. 😊💥💥💥

  2. only foreigners to the African continent were concerned about that weapon. And do not think the liking of this video is in support of your headline and reporting, it is in support of the person you are trying so hard to paint a bad picture.
