  1. We welcome everyone to come to Pacific Bakersfield only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Altadena, $300.000 will buy you a nice home, Only 1 hour and 30 minutes from Hollywood BLVD, and one hour north of Magic mountain north on the 5, and we have no danger of floods, tsunamis, fires, earthquakes, congested traffic, high winds, high gasoline prices, we have 2 Costco's, 6 super Wal-Mart's 2 bedroom apartment rentals that are average priced at $1.300 a month, and hot days are only 2 months out of the year, not to mention that L.A county has its share of hot days too, additionally we don't drink recycled sewer water as L.A. County Citizens do, we get our fresh clean water from the mountains at an average cost of $25.00 a month. And those are just a few incentives to move here. I moved here from Santa Monica 35 years ago and will never go back. Bakersfield has always been known as the Buck Owens "ALL AMERICAN CITY" and a "NO STRESS CITY". And for those people that prefer big mansions, we also have the million dollar homes, in "the seven Oaks" neighborhoods that are even nicer than the Beverly Hills 5 to 10 million dollar homes.

  2. Stop the madness!! We are the Indigenous people of this land, Millions of so called Black people are the Nations and Tribes that were already here! All of this land called America belongs to Black First Nations People! The fire is the direct result of the genocide and atrocities of Slavery that white people have benefited from to this day. But the tube has turned and Judgment will be executed on the children of the salve masters!!

  3. Aldena is not a Black community anymore, why does the News always make everything about race? People are suffering due to this Fire, Rich and Poor, Black and white or other. Stop the madness this is Human experience not a experience of Race with is a social construct.

  4. FYI historical White homes burned down too. It’s called historical homes burnt down. A lot of Black people these days seem to want to be ethnocentric. Spreading hate amongst the community. Does no good.

  5. in the midst of deep sadness, I am inspired by TWO Voices of Hope, Conviction, and A Solid Groundedness – beyond status and money and just things! Thanks to the Taylors for sharing and reminding me of what is important in life.

  6. You will report "black" for Altadena but you wont call Pacific Palisades "Jewish" or tell us about the Jewish history of Palisades. You wont even mention that its a heavily Jewish community. Why is that?

  7. Why is the neighborhood "Historically" black? You say it like it was a choice. It was because of housing segregation, redlining and racism. Some of them wanted to live in other neighborhoods but they were excluded. Thats why its "Historically" black and that is why Pacific Palisades is "Historically" white on the flip side.

  8. I left in 82. I'm out here in Atlanta now. I lived there from 1977-1982. I'm mourning right now. That was my most favorite home and area to live in! I've been crying off and on.

  9. I am sending love to all the families of Altadena who were affected by the fires and to those who are there doing the work to help those who are suffering from such a loss. My uncle lives in Altadena and he is deeply upset to see his beautiful community hurting so much. He is safe, that is what matters, but he watched his community burn down and at an old age of 85 he worries what will happen. I am dedicating my new artwork to this amazing Black Community and to Altadena, and to raise awareness of Climate Change that is harming mostly communities that are marginalized. I send prayers of healing and rebuilding to the community. It is a beautiful place!
