Ala. Critics: Sec. Buttigieg, Biden FAIL Black Community DECIMATED By 6Yr Highway Flooding NIGHTMARE

Black residents in the small, predominantly Black community in Coffee County, in southeastern Alabama, say when it rains, it floods.

The Shiloh community is located between Elba and New Brockton along U.S. Highway 84.

Residents say flooding has been constant since 2018, when work began expanding U.S. 84 from two lanes to four. This has led to persistent issues with septic tank overflows and an invasion of water moccasins, rats, and mosquitoes.

Due to the flooding, they are struggling to keep up with rising homeowner’s insurance; many homes have gone unrepaired.

Dr. Robert D. Bullard, a Professor and the Director of the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice at Texas Southern University and
Pastor Timothy Williams the Director of the Shiloh Community Center spoke with Roland Martin about the disturbing conditions in the Shiloh community.

  1. Wait, so this started under tRump admin and they waited two years to complain????? WTH! I feel for them and at same time don’t see the type of civil rights push our predecessors had back in the 60’s by our community in these Red States. Gary Chambers in Louisiana mentioned how our community seems to just complain and wait for help. Mass protest should’ve been happening daily, weekly & monthly day one along with filing complaints in this Alabama community, I mean ya’ll just now reaching out to Roland for assistance, damn!

  2. I wonder if this is still happening in Trenton Tennessee on mian highway, it flooded the whole highway and surrounding neighborhoods i wants to know have it been resolved and fixed yet. There's a lot of blacks lives near that highway. Nobody wants to do their jobs for the small states, and cities. Its sad that so many poor communities are being left behind.

  3. This is disgusting. Transportation apartide. Just like the 1950's-1960's coming back. When we don't stay engaged in our local politics , this kind of madness happens to our neighborhoods and communities. Thank you, Roland Martin and guests, for bringing this information to your viewers. Hold the government accountable and get compensation for your investments and health.

  4. I have been saying this forever. Democrats do not care about Black folks any more than Republicans. Roland and others like him put these Democrats on a pedestal when they are the same as the people that get demonized. The Wolf and the Fox.

  5. And this is why people need to vote properly locally. You can just blame the Federal government. The local government is responsible for what is going on. People always love to blame the President and the administration but you elected local government that isn't doing anything.

  6. Both political parties are to blame. But I will say the republicans in Ala. truly don't give a damn about this black community. It's obvious the only interest the Ala. republicans have is to seize these properties. Please know racist #47 2nd term isn't going to do a damn thing for these black people!!! Prays for this community!!!

  7. Let's give everybody the blame the trump administration the biden administration the state level the city of shiloh and who else you can put on notice and i hope you have your proof that they knew it would flood and hire your lawyers!!!!!

  8. I pray they get out of that area which is a trap straight up! they definitely need to sue and they need justice but I have zero faith in Trump and any republicans. Get out of that dangerous racist hell hole with your lives and good health. I pray for all of you and us in this United KKK States.

  9. This is the South, let's not be native here. The construction workers who built this highway knew of them near by black residents this was done on purpose out of hatred and racism. They been doing shady and intentional shit like this down south since forever

  10. Question. Why do BLACK PEOPLE send their kids to WHITE COLLEGES TO PLAY FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL IN ALABAMA MAKING THOSE SCOOLS RICH WHIL THEIR PARENTS AND RELATIVES ARE TREATED LIKE THIS!!

  11. Black people in America have given up and gone numb. God help us because we are now dependent on other ethnic groups to fight battles where we can hopefully gain some benefits. Black people find your fighting spirit and start caring and helping each other.

  12. I’m confused isn’t their their local government responsible for this disaster seem like an obstruction of justice this is not a good look cause it an unfortunate situation you want to blame BIden when it’s really your local government that screwed and unfortunately it want get any better cause Trump won’t do a damn thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Pure environmental racism. Can Black engineers go there and devise a plan to fix it? Sounds like another lawsuit, are there lawyers who can file suit and draw attention to the matter so the world knows.

  14. I lived in the days of Jim Crow for 15 years a time when we didn't have the freedoms we have today and we built streets and a black wall streets in our community all by ourselves and we repaired our community all by ourselves
