DRC Conflict | The West continues to benefit from DRC’s instability: Malema

Economic Freedom Fighter leader Julius Malema says South African soldiers on a peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are ill-equipped and have no capacity.

Malema was reacting to the death of nine South African soldiers killed during a fight with M23 rebels in the east of DRC.

He says there’s nothing revolutionary about M23 rebels.

He says all they want is to loot the minerals of the country.

Malema says if the government cannot give SANDF soldiers equipment, they should come back.

  1. Malema spoke more sense than all those fake and half baked Pan Africanists. The situation in Congo is complex, both the extremely corrupt DRC political leaders and M23 are wrong but we can't sent our young men do defend these Congolese clowns. Bring our boys homes, let's train military on the latest fighting tactics, latest and cutting edge weapons and arm to the teeth.

  2. Don't talk of the United Nations yet they make part of the equation of the problem in Congo…..they have been their for years but not making any solutions to the problem because they protect the interest of the the western players in Congo. Rather talk of African forces like the AU and other such bodies and leaders on the African grounds…. We should start thinking solving our own problems on a round table with only African… When the Western world backed out of direct colonialism, they made indirect approaches giving them the same results….they will still do anything they can to take out Africa Resources….including making us fight each other for us not to be united and speak a common language. This benefits them alot

  3. Malema does not know what he talked about,it's 28 years that we are in the refuges camps ,one of us thousands of Congolese Tutsis are in Kenya camps ,in Uganda camps,in Burundi camps ,even in Rwanda and you play with our life nobody will stop us it's time to go back in our country enough is enough we don't care with kills what you tolked about.nobody will stop Sarambwe lions they our heroes ❤❤❤❤ M23 forever on our heart

  4. Some people you don't know you ask Mr Thabo Mbeki about this!he knows very well our root cause why our brothers and our sisters are fighting for our freedome and our right to live ,even if you will bring the world soldiers will be defeated we back to our home we have reason to fight for our rights and our free dome

  5. Malema is one of many criminals that should be locked in prison. But I agree what he says Belgium benefits from it not whole Europe. But most of Africans don't even know the names of the countries in Europe. What eff have done to make anything better in SA? nothing. They just want the land that they don't even know how to maintain.

  6. There is nothing rational about m23, I used to take you serious but your are a neusence, can you
I magine kishasa regime has been killing us since 1996 with fdlr and you Marema you dare to say that m 23 is irrational

  7. malema is so irrelevant in politics now that he needs to resort to racist populism to get through. No, malema the west does not benefit from instability in DRC as ALL the money that comes in to stabilise the region comes from the west. Which is about 1500% more than what is coming back again. Also 85% of all the minerals from eastern DRC is exported to China. Even south africa imports more than the west but we know malema is not going to say anything about that. He’s never been interested in truth. Just power like all corrupt african leaders

  8. Why the DRC is #1 in Natural Wealth:
✅ Cobalt & Coltan: The DRC produces over 70% of the world's cobalt, a key mineral used in smartphone batteries, laptops, and electric vehicles (EVs). Even Apple's iPhones and Tesla's EVs rely on cobalt sourced from the DRC.

✅ Gold & Diamonds: The country has some of the largest gold and diamond reserves, but a significant portion is mined illegally or smuggled, preventing the full economic benefit from reaching the country.

✅ Copper & Lithium: With the rise of renewable energy and electric cars, the DRC’s copper and lithium resources are becoming even more valuable.

Why Isn't the DRC the Richest Economy?
Despite this massive natural wealth, the DRC remains economically poor due to:
    ❌ Corruption & Political Instability
    ❌ Exploitation by Foreign Companies
    ❌ Illegal Mining & Smuggling
❌ Lack of Infrastructure & Development

If the DRC could fully control and benefit from its resources, it could become one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Its minerals are essential for the future of technology, energy, and global industries—yet much of the wealth leaves the country without benefiting its people.

The DRC is sitting on a goldmine—literally—but unlocking its full potential requires major changes in governance and economic policies.

  9. Oh, like expected from this fool, it is now in the west's interest that the fighting in the DRC continues. It is the same as keeping on, for thirty years and still going, blaming apartheid for the failure of the government in SA.
