The crisis in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is intensifying – with the AFP News agency reporting that more than 100 people have been killed in the city of Goma as fighting between the M23 rebel group and government forces escalates. The news agency says nearly one thousand others are wounded, based on a tally drawn from city hospitals.
The UN says that dead bodies have been found lying in the streets as M23 fighters push further into Goma – a city of two million people.
The UN says hospitals in Goma are struggling to handle the numbers of people injured.

All of this is as a result of bad governance. All of this is as a result of unemployment. We witnessed this scenario in Cameroon, 2016 till date and the war is still going on undercover
This is so sad. Stop the senseless war!
May Allah Subhaanah restore calm and peace in Congo. Ameen.
all these countries create war and unrest then the rest of the world are expected to take refugees in? then they go to their adopted countries and do the same. create problems. i like what trump is doing hope others follow! i like what king abdullah of jordan said last yr' dont expect us to clean up your mess!' he was in some country talking about unrest in their part of the world. yes!
And another heartbreaking day in another African war.💔😢
😟🙏🏿🙏🏿🤲🏿🤲🏿
Wat a shame. Dis is hw d west want African story to b so dat their media can b doing mockery news reporting. Hw happy ar they now,.. Congo is playing to d gallery so dat their BBC can happily continue d same age long narrative ( Africans ar fighting their endless war yet again ). Wat a shame.
BUT WHY IS IT THAT BBC IS EVER REPORTING LIES WHEN IT COMES TO THE REAL NEWS ON THE SCENE!… WILL BBC SHOW THE ABOUT THE MERCENARIES WHO KILLED INNOCENT PEOPLE ON THE GROUND?
The Africans are like little children, they're incapable of looking after themselves, they need more mature and disciplined people to administer and run things in that continent.

Iam crying on this😢
All countries need to leave the DRC alone. Rwanda, Uganda, U.S., China, EU etc. They have been causing and supporting war in this country for decades upon decades. It's enough! Independence for the DRC!
The misery never stops 😢😢
My deepest prayers to all
Im so blessed to Live in a civilized country🇺🇸Couldn’t imagine living in a country with no order or law, where rebels roam the continent free to do as they please to whoever they want to
😭😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏
Classic African barbarism….. this is why Africa shall NEVER amount to anything.
Something is wrong in Wakanda
Bible prophesy coming to pass; wars, famine, earthquake etc. The end is soon, turn to God while you still have the time; although no one know the time, not even Jesus, only God. 2nd Timothy 3 verses 1-5: Critical times hard to deal with……………….
Wherewver islam takes over😂😂😂😂
How tragic. I hope the fighting ends soon.

M23 the army of the people ❤❤❤❤❤
AMERICA, FRANCE, BRITAIN AND THE ENTURE EUROPE. AFRICA FORESEES THE CURRENT USE OF RWANDA TO FIGHT CONGO DR AS A PRELUDE THAT MUST METAMORPHOSE INTO A DRAMA THAT WOULD WITNESS THE ETERNAL EXIT OF FRANCE AND BRITAIN FROM AFRICA. JUST WATCH OUT!!!
You'll learn to be vigilant about your freedom, Rwanda and DRC and SA, and all other African countries should unite.
Europeans ALWAYS ATTEMPT TO SEPARATE AFRICA
Building a stronger army in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) requires a multi-faceted approach. Here are some strategies to consider:
Military Reforms
1. *Professionalization*: Implement a professional and merit-based promotion system to ensure competent leadership.
2. *Training and capacity building*: Provide regular training and capacity-building programs for soldiers, focusing on modern warfare tactics, human rights, and discipline.
3. *Reorganization and restructuring*: Streamline the military's structure and command chain to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Logistics and Equipment
1. *Modernize equipment*: Gradually replace outdated equipment with modern, well-maintained arms and ammunition.
2. *Improve infrastructure*: Develop and maintain military bases, barracks, and other infrastructure to support troop deployment and operations.
3. *Enhance supply chain management*: Ensure reliable and efficient supply chains for food, fuel, and other essential resources.
Human Rights and Civil-Military Relations
1. *Human rights training*: Integrate human rights training into military education and operations to prevent abuses and promote accountability.
2. *Civil-military relations*: Foster positive relationships between the military and civilian populations through community engagement, outreach, and development programs.
3. *Accountability mechanisms*: Establish robust mechanisms for investigating and addressing human rights abuses and other misconduct.
International Cooperation and Assistance
1. *Partnerships with other countries*: Collaborate with other countries, regional organizations, and international partners to access training, equipment, and expertise.
2. *UN peacekeeping missions*: Participate in UN peacekeeping missions to gain experience and build capacity.
3. *International military assistance*: Seek assistance from international organizations, such as the African Union or the European Union, to support military reform and capacity building.
Addressing Underlying Challenges
1. *Addressing corruption*: Implement measures to prevent and address corruption within the military, including transparent procurement processes and accountability mechanisms.
2. *Improving living conditions*: Enhance living conditions for soldiers, including housing, healthcare, and education, to boost morale and retention.
3. *Promoting national cohesion*: Foster a sense of national identity and purpose within the military, emphasizing the importance of protecting the country and its citizens.
By implementing these strategies, the DRC can build a stronger, more effective, and more accountable military that serves the nation and its people.
