A united African economy: The impossible dream? | Business Beyond

Despite having almost 20% of the global population, Africa’s 54 countries collectively account for less than 3% of global GDP. Africa however has an extremely young population and by 2075, one out of every three people will be African. The continent has vast economic potential but it must face down several challenges. It needs to end endemic poverty, strengthen its collective economy, keep the value of its resources at home and create meaningful jobs for its people. Can Africa do it? Business Beyond considers its chances.

  1. I am positive the United Africa will be established and Africa economy will be greater than most other continents. We have the resources and people. We just have to elect great honest leaders to ensure this to happen.

  2. African is blessed and the African people are blessed it's time now. Africa is going to have the biggest economy in the world with in 20 years from now amen and Amen God bless and let the blessings flows amen and Amen

  3. TRUST ME AFRICA WILL BE ONE OF THE GREATEST FOR CHRIST HAS CALLED IT TO BE ~TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN MUCH IS REQUIRED. JOY IS HERE

IF OUR LEADERS WON'T DO IT THEN THEY WILL HAVE TO CATCH UP BECAUSE WE WILL

  4. With the alleged world's 2nd most CORRUPT president 🇰🇪 where are we headed to as we loose Over $15 Million (ksh 2Billion) per day in Kenya ?
Europeans and Americans are funding Corruption in Africa by lending , giving , granting loans to CORRUPT AFRICAN PRESIDENTS with bad track records , 🤔🤔🤔🤔

  5. What Africans really need is to develop ourselves not actively blame others… we have resources yet instead of exploiting them we kill each other with endless wars over them… we don't build schools we send our children overseas… we don't take religion seriously… we don't even have stable communities… we need real leaders

  6. Kenya will not take off economically anytime soon because it is politically too unstable, which makes local and foreign businesses shy of making big investments.
The monarchy offers Morocco a political stability and project continuity most other African countries can only dream of, especially those that have been conned into "Western" democracy. Look at what Egypt was about to become when one "free and fair" election nearly turned it into a religious state the like of Afghanistan.

  7. Can the whole racist west survive without africa ,when having such conversations it's like they forget and don't know how the west acquired power and how it currently retains it currently

  9. They have to send their youths to middle east to feed 10 of their families . Many get killed there . I loved Africa but once i understood how rampant corruption is i gave up . ITS CALLED SLEEPING GIANT
That will never wake . They keep forming alliances which is another money pit to the few !

  10. An African cannot resist corruption. It's problem no 1, and it won't change. I'm from South Africa and the world helped fight against Apartheid so that the ANC can rule, they have stolen billions and trashed the country!

  11. Africa cannot build infrastructure because the leaders are corrupt. Instead of building universities, roads, rail, ports, schools, etc etc etc they buy fancy cars and build mansions. The leaders do not care about their own people!

  12. "They keep saying Africa is poor what nonsense!…. Africa is not poor AFRICANS are poor, that is the result of centuries of exploitation and domination". —- Kwame Nkrumah

  13. Why these documentaries always portrays Africa as the poorest country on earth whilst Americans are living without Medicare and Europeans do not have considerable jobs and most of Asians countries are manufacturing countries for the western merchandises they work 14 hours a day in china or Japan or Malaysia or Thailand or Taiwan or Singapore with no rest
Every country has an issue while Africa is poor it’s livable the weather is nice in the sub Saharan side we do not have tornadoes such as in California we do not have earthquakes such as in Asia
We do not have a country bombing another country such as in the Middle East in the eyes of the world we live without mosquitos animals and do not eat a day
    But that’s not the case

  14. Infrastructure, Industrialization, and Intra-continental trade are certainly going to be game changer for Africa. I believe it was Freedom Jacob Cesar who said “Africa is complex; Complex situations require complex solutions.” The youth deserve a brighter future! Nothing is impossible. Off to a great start! Keep compounding with great leaders who give the people hope! ❤

  15. There was more talking that tangibly highlighting the blockers and opportunities. Corruption, lack of unity (wars), unskilled population (poor education) & foresight.

  16. I began watching this and stopped as soon as I saw your world map which is a colonial map which means it's distorted- showing countries like Greenland almost the size of Africa etc which leads me to distrust your content and data if you can't even use a correct world map…
