The D.C. area has one of the largest populations of Black wealth in the country due in large part to federal government employment and contracting opportunities, but some worry they’ll see those gains disappear as the region feels the impact of President Donald Trump’s cuts to agency staffing and spending. Like this gentleman said, winning a government contract is considered a golden ticket. That was part of the problem. The government has grown and grown and grown attracting more and more people with the promise of wealth. The way agency budgets are determined is crazy. The idea is to spend every dime so the budget doesn't shrink for the next fiscal year. This created unneccessary work that wasnt justified.
