Convicted war criminal Thomas Lubanga has announced a new rebel group named the Convention for the Popular Revolution. The group will be active in DRC’s eastern Ituri province. Thomas Lubanga was the first person to be convicted by the International Criminal Court in 2012 on charges of recruiting child soldiers. He was released in 2020. After his release, DRC President Félix Tshisekedi controversially appointed him to a task force to bring peace to Ituri. But in 2022, he was taken hostage for two months by another rebel group. He blames his abduction on the DRC government. After being freed, he relocated to Uganda. He announced his new rebel group from Uganda’s capital, Kampala, to retake Ituri province. 1. It is very sad to see africa is becoming battle ground of the world day by day.🤔 this is the holy land where once mahatma gandhi ji has started his non violence and satyagraha movement🙏

  2. Your reporting is clearly one-sided. You cannot discuss Lubanga’s alleged creation of a new rebel group without also addressing Codeco, which has been killing innocent people in the villages of Lubanga every single day.
As citizens of Eastern Congo, specifically Ituri, we see how the Western world distorts the truth, misinforms the public, and manipulates public opinion.
Lubanga was imprisoned for enrolling orphan children who had lost everything: their parents, their families, their homes. He was judged for this, while the actual criminals who carried out mass killings were empowered. And this was called "human rights"?
The same Lendu militias that massacred hundreds of thousands under the name of FPRI are now carrying out atrocities against the Hema people in Ituri. Yet, no one talks about it. But when it comes to Lubanga, suddenly the world takes notice, publishing everywhere that he has formed a rebel group.
If he has done so, it is only because he has been left with no other choice. For him, it is a matter of dying for his people.

Meanwhile, check out this link and you'll see what is happening in eastern Congo: https://hemacommunity.org/genocide/

  3. Talk about also the responsibilities of SADC troops, Wasalendo militias, FDLR genocide perpetrators militias, FARDC, Mercenaries, Burundian Soldiers in crisis of Eastern DRC. Rwandaphones (Banyamulenge, Bahima,…)killed by DR Regimes, finally, the roles of Belgium soldiers currently operate in Walikale and Kinsangani. You will be appreciated. Even if it is not your hypocrisy.

  4. Financed and Backed by a European or Asian…. This is to predictable at this point. You racist backing these syncophants for mineral exploitation.. This playbook is coming to an end permanently. I promise you!!!
