Zimbabwe: War Veterans Protest Against Mnangagwa, Citizens Stay Away | Firstpost Africa| N18G
Protests erupted in Zimbabwe as a small group of war veterans took to the streets of Harare, accusing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of corruption and clinging to power. Led by Blessed Geza, a former member of Mnangagwa’s ZANU-PF party, they demanded his resignation. However, most citizens stayed home amid heavy security, leading to a near-total shutdown of businesses and schools. The protests stem from reports that Mnangagwa plans to extend his term beyond 2028, despite constitutional limits. His government faces allegations of mismanagement and repression. Meanwhile, Geza’s group supports Vice President Constantino Chiwenga as a potential successor. Though the protests lacked mass support, they highlighted the deepening tensions within Zimbabwe’s ruling party and uncertainty about the country’s future. Watch this video for more.

Damn Zimbabweans are cowards ! Freedom never goes to cowards
I don't care how he suppressed his people. He will one day be arrested and prosecuted!
Mnangagwa ain't going nowhere. Zanu PF ain't going nowhere. No offense folks.
Ja you War Veterans fought on the wrong side!! Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. You should have fought on the other side for true Freedom. Talk about making the wrong choice 😂😂😂

Some countries in Africa are just like Haiti, they can't be fixed, eg Zimbabwe, Congo, Somalia, Libya, Nigeria they are in perpetual disarray 😢 So sad
45 years of failure
#GoldMafia
#GoldMafia & #Mnangagwamustgo
Geza warira
African leaders must learn to respect the constitution as it is the organic laws of the country.
Disunity amongst the people and a culture of fear that was created by Mugabe are the reasons for the futile demonstrations.
If the people are not happy why cant he step down coz it shows that they do want you, what so difficult this old african leaders are the big problem
So, where are the protestors? 😂😂😂 If his term ends in 2028, why should he step down now?😀 Propaganda from South Africa. You can’t even get your words out right.🤪

Even Mozambique there is a fight till now coz the don't want to step down people are dying
Unless Zimbabweans get rid of ZANU PF then they will forever be prisoners of such politicians. Mnangagwa was a Mugabe loyalist who carried out massacres in Zimbabwe during the 80s. Why are people surprised by this. Zimbabwe replaced a dictator with a dictator😂
The current Zimbabweans are very cowards they afraid of death.
Shame of us as Zimbabweans hatina kubatana why police isinawo kusupporter this thing amana hakuna kwatinoenda senyika😢
Munangagwa must go we are tired especially us stays here in SA calss us makwerekwere 😢eish God
Good analysis but why asking someone from south africa as if there are no political commentators in Zimbabwe
leave my president alone
Is it only me but the South African lady always seems like she has an attitude when interviewing people? The "sure" and "mmms" are so uncomfortable & rude.
The biggest mistake with Mr Geza is to want to replace mnangagwa with Chiwenga. What the majority of Zimbabweans want is to see the whole zanu pf out for good. That's why most people doesn't come out to the street because they thought it's a zanu pf thing
Hi
Vanhu havatye but Zanu inouraya haina tsitsi
Lack of zeal in the demonstrations is a clear sign of despair. Zimbabweans' hopes are not pinned on politicians but on something better. They know very that participation in the protests would just be to risk their lives in order for another thief to loot the economy,
Zimbabweans did very well, at least they now that politicians and former army generals or war veterans only want power for themselves, not the masses. Recently they went to the streets to depose Mugabe, only for Munangagwa to become the beneficiary of their demonstration. In the seventies many Zimbabweans lost their lives for Mugabe to live a life of opulence. They have learnt their lesson, they remembered the idiom, once beaten ,twice shy, whoever wants power should go it alone
god help the company but also in case many be a great time with you blessings
Mnangagwa must go
