South Africa’s Parliament passed the national budget this week — but it scraped through with a slim majority. Those voting against it included members of the ruling coalition. South Africa’s second-largest party, the Democratic Alliance (or DA), has rejected the budget. The party says it will challenge it in court. Not just this — it’s now reconsidering its position in the government. The DA was once South Africa’s main opposition party, but last year it joined President Cyril Ramaphosa’s African National Congress (ANC) after the ANC lost its parliamentary majority for the first time in 30 years. But joining the unity government hasn’t closed the gap. The two main parties disagree on key policies. The budget is now a flashpoint. The center-right DA rejects tax increases and demands spending cuts across all departments. Watch for more updates.

  1. Genocide my foot , I’m a Trump supporter until we get to this matter the boer are thugs and the took the land by force and and BLOODSHED!!! Now they want to make noise ! Return what they stole !!!! Indeed it’s a force narrative they are narcissists in denial of the truth . Let them go to the us Bye!!!!👋🏽

  2. Think you should challenge your genetic inheritance rather than encouraging the scheme that is your downfall just because you want to feel like you belong somewhere.

  3. The stupids were celebrating higher prices ? How is this mentality. ..of jumping for joy over an Increase of Vat..making everyone poorer…they are celebrating that…

  4. Our Government is weak really.. We have no Law. Infra structure ruined.. Poor water management..Load shedding.. How come a country like Rwanda.. Torn by genocide can still overcome all those adversities and still the people are so patriotic now and stand together to make their country so beautiful and united together. It's time now for our younger generation who are educated enough to take over and take control really. Our people are exploited, exploited. Worst than the Apartheid Era shocking really.
