South Africa’s rand slumps to 18-month low amid U.S. tariffs



South Africa’s rand fell to its lowest level in 18 months, trading at 19.58 against the U.S. dollar, a drop of 2.4 percent from the previous Friday’s close. The currency’s decline comes as President Donald Trump maintains a firm stance on U.S. tariff plans. South African officials have indicated that they will engage in discussions with the U.S. to address the situation.

  3. Markets are down worldwide, and SA is hit really hard. What I find strange though is to see the idiots in the comments section celebrating this as if they won’t be affected by all this.
