A historic promotion at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the first African-American Chief Deputy in the department’s 180 year history.

  1. Wow what an achievement! What with him being black! This story would not be the least bit noteworthy if he were a white man, of whom outstanding success is expected. But for some reason the color of this man’s skin makes a difference, still!

    Just announce that a qualified guy got promoted…

  3. Good to see him make it and he is definitely not DEI. He has done all the things to get him solidly to this point in his career. We are all proud of him and the success he has still to accomplish.
