Russian President Vladimir Putin and South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa held a phone call to discuss trade cooperation and the Ukraine crisis, the Kremlin confirmed Monday. The two leaders explored ways to deepen economic ties and investment. Putin shared Russia’s stance on resolving the Ukraine conflict, stressing the need to address its root causes and safeguard Russian security. He also extended Freedom Day greetings to South Africa ahead of the April 27 holiday. Both sides agreed to maintain contact at various levels.
