DA holds media briefing after decision not to hike VAT

Let’s cross now to the DA Press conference as the DA reports back to the public following a massive victory against what they call an unjust VAT hike.

After steadfast opposition by the DA, lawyers acting on behalf of the Minister of Finance have approached the DA’s legal representatives with a proposal for an out-of-court settlement.

This follows the DA’s application to interdict the VAT increase, which the party has opposed from the outset on the grounds of its impact on already struggling South African households.

This development marks a major victory for the DA and a turning point in the fight to protect South Africans from unjustified financial burdens. Let’s take you there now.

  1. Thank you so much DA, I pray South African citizens could open thy eyes ANC cares from themselves n not for the people of South Africa thy care about thy pockets..n thy don't care if South Africa is going down..coz thy gangsters that loot😢

  2. One thing about madam Zille is that she really has a very firm political mantra and firmness in as far as SA political landscape is concerned. She has the maturity and the wisdom in reading the political atmosphere and direction ahead of time at times. She knew this will attract the citizens attention to think and contemplate considering the DA electorally, of course DA is there to advance the white supremacy agenda and interest, however they deserve credit on this one irregardless

  3. Interesting point of departure of The Lead on eNCA, channel 403…DA was not credited with much. Really thought the interview with DA could have been more charitable with time and insight – or should one rather say a lack of insight.

  4. Well done, DA ,well done indeed.
Clearly, the masses, the South African citizens, have been rescued by you,DA,from the ruthlessness of the ANC,ACTION SA, and the Musi Maimane group called BOSA, I think.
    to the UMKONTO WE SIZWE,
PARTY,the EFF and you, the DA,we shout "THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH " for saving our souls from the DECEPTION OF THE ANC,which was a calculated intentions to enslave all of us,the SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONALS.

  5. Someone asks why is the EFF not be thanked equally? It's they were not the main applicant in the matter. They only followed behind the DA. Hence the out of court settlement negotiations involved only the main applicant to agree to the withdrawal of the VAT increase

  6. DA and EFF have won this fight thanks to them, but why this black journalists are speaking their languages when asking questions as the afrikaners do. Be proud of your African languages if others speaks theirs then speak yours proudly so.

  7. The DA spearheaded the victory here, however I think the real winner here is logic and proper thinking. Not logic in a simple sense, but rather logic that is executed when all circumstances are broken down into their individual components and examined carefully. I would like to think that this event is not a soap box for the DA, but rather an example of how we as South Africans can come together and work things out. It is a small victory in that sense, but a victory none the less that we should be paying attention to

  8. DA is playing a dirty games,DA and ANC same what'sapp group lying to the world, instead of sitting down with their partners the run straight to the court, look at the back of Zille who's flag is that, that is not South African Flag, you see DA what is doing, secured they're space only.
