5. The President of Ethiopia is Taye Atsuke-Selassie.

I'm so proud and inspired to see President Ibrahim Traoré rise in his power. He’s a true king in every sense — leading with strength, wisdom, and integrity. As a Black woman from America, I feel deep pride, but also a heaviness knowing the reality here. This country was built on the backs of my ancestors, and yet we still fight every day for dignity, equity, and truth.
Please don’t believe everything social media or the news says about Black Americans. We are so much more than the stereotypes. We are intelligent, responsible, resilient, and powerful beyond measure. We've had to constantly rebuild from nothing, generation after generation, yet we still rise. We understand struggle, survival, and now more than ever unity.
