As tensions between India and Pakistan escalated following India’s missile strikes on terror camps, several African nations responded with caution and diplomacy. Egypt urged both sides to show restraint and resolve the crisis through dialogue. Angola, currently chairing the African Union, strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and expressed solidarity with India. Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reached out to counterparts in Algeria, Sierra Leone, and Somalia all non-permanent members of the UN Security Council to underline India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and build international support.
