Tributes continue to pour in for South African actor Presley Chweneyagae



Tributes continue to pour in for South African actor Presley Chweneyagae, who has died at the age of 40. Originally a theatre performer and fluent in Setswana, Chweneyagae rose to prominence when he starred in the movie Tsotsi, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 78th Academy Awards.

The iconic actor “Mokwepa” played many roles that expressed different characters in several series and films.

He was born in Mahikeng in the North West on 19 October 1984, where he kick-started his career by attending children’s drama classes and acting at the tender age of 10 at the Mmabana Arts, Culture and Sports Foundation.
