CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Chihamba African American Cultural Arts Ball kicks off on Saturday, June 7 is inviting the community to celebrate Black excellence through music, dance, and tradition.
On July 26, the Chihamba African American Cultural Arts Festival will return. Both events support the African American Heritage Scholarship. The co-chair of Chihamba says this is a time for all to get together and celebrate.
“It’s so hard to get in school nowadays,” Chihamba Co-Chair Lillie Williams said. “It’s so different. Any little bit they can get. I mean it might not be a lot of money. But any bit they can get is greatly appreciated and needed. It’s like coming home.”
Tickets are still available for the Chihamba ball. For more details about both events, you can click here.
The ball will be at The Center at Belvedere.
The Cultural Arts Festival will be at Burley Middle School.
